I thought I'd share with those of you who do not know the wedding party personally, a little about each of the people who will be holding me up during the ceremony :)
Chris Hannah
Chris is my best man (as you probably guessed from the post heading). Chris is in the US Air Force, I would tell you his rank but he keeps getting promoted and I can't keep up. He was stationed at Nellis AFB in Las Vegas when we met.
We were first introduced through the youth group at the Crossing, which we were both leaders of. We eventually led a Middle School boys small group together. I have very fond memories of Chris and I roughhousing with the boys and getting creamed by thirteen year olds in pool.
Chris is married to Camille, one of Kristina's brides maids and best friends. Together they have two little tax shelters, Claire and Carson. Another of my fondest memories surrounding the Hannah family was the birth of their first child Claire, while Kristina and Chris had the relatively easy task of aiding Camille in the birthing of the child, I was put in charge of the much more important and difficult task of taking care of their first child Presley (the dog). Adding to the memory, I recall that I was unable to see Claire on her first day of life because I had to run to school after the peaceful and restful night of two hours of sleep to take a Law final. Ah, good times! I will also never forget that I was fortunate enough to spend with Chris his last night at home before he shipped off to Iraq, the first time, just sitting up most of the night watching movies and hanging out. Chris, don't ever go back there, we can find better reasons to watch movies all night, thanks.
Chris and I share a love for the outdoors, and ridiculously large trucks. For those of you who have seen my incredibly huge (and really good looking) truck, you would call it tiny and inadequate to some of the trucks Chris has had. I could always look forward to a conversation about some new Mikey Thomson's (tires) or whatever else we were attaching to our trucks that week.
Since our illustrious days as trouble to Crossing Middle Schoolers, Chris has moved back to Missouri, his home state. And is thankfully stationed at a base that will never make him go to Iraq again. Unfortunatly that means fewer nights hanging out, but thankfully last month Kristina and I were in Nebraska for my brother-in-law's graduation and were able to sneak away and make the quick hop down to Missouri where we all spent a day playing Rock Band on the Wii and watching movies.
I am very thankful to have such a great friend and fellow hillbilly to share my life with, and hopefully one day we will be back within close proximity again. Not soon enough, I can tell you.
